Munir Fakher Eldin specializes in the study of modern Palestinian history. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Sociology and his Master's and Ph.D. degrees in History, Middle Eastern, and Islamic Studies from New York University between 1998 and 2008. During his Ph.D. studies, he conducted archival research on the British colonial land policy in Palestine and its social and political impact on Palestinians.

Following his training and fellowships in New York and Berlin, Munir joined Birzeit University in 2010 as an Assistant Professor in the Philosophy and Cultural Studies Department. He also serves as the director of the Master's program in Israeli Studies at Birzeit University, Palestine. His body of work includes several publications, with a focus on properties and real estate endowments in the Old City of Jerusalem.
