The Public Programme at the A. M. Qattan Foundation would like to invite designers to apply for a workshop with the prominent fashion designer Rami Kashou, that will take place between October 1st – 31st, 2017, in Ramallah.
The workshop revolves around readapting used clothes to modern outfits based on six exercises that will be set and supervised by Rami Kashou. The A. M. Qattan Foundation will provide all needed material as well as technical and logistical support for the workshop in October. The designs will be shown on a runway in the inaugural opening of the new building of A. M. Qattan Foundation, end of October 2017.
Interested applicants must have basic technical and design skills from sketching to pattern making, draping, seeming, sewing, and stitching. Applicants need to send the following material to the address below:
1. A portfolio of designs and works in PDF format.
2. A motivation letter that proves their intent and commitment.
3. A biography 100 words and a portrait image (300dpi).
4. A 1 minute motivation video presenting the applicant and her/his work, in MP4 format and 100 MB maximum.
Selected applicants will be contacted early June 2017 for interviews by a professional committee, and will be asked to show 3 pieces of their recent designs. Last date for submissions is 12:00 noon June 15th, 2017.
