On 16 August, the Drama in Education Summer School (DiESS) organised by the Qattan Centre for Educational Research and Development, concluded its eighth year in Jerash, Jordan, in cooperation with the Al-Balad Theatre. 97 teachers from Palestine and several Arab countries participated. The team of lecturers and supervisors came from Palestine, Britain, Greece and the USA.
DiESS was launched at the beginning of August this year, giving participating teachers the opportunity to discover ways to use drama as a teaching tool in their classrooms, and showing them how to become engaged with the education process in an integrated way.
The DiESS program was developed over the years based on the cumulative experience to become one of the major programmes of the Centre in teachers’ professional development.
