On 4 August, Dr. Tafeeda Jarbawi, Director General of the Welfare Association, Dr. Mustafa Sweitat, Deputy Mayor of Jenin Municipality, and Ziad Khalaf, Director General of the A. M. Qattan Foundation, signed a memorandum of understanding for the establishment of a Cultural Centre for Children in Jenin. The Centre is funded by the Islamic Development Bank through the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development..
The first of its kind in Jenin, the Centre is designed as a free experimental space working towards empowering different social groups, with focus on children, to enable them to take part in the present social change.
The Jenin Centre will adopt an integrative approach through a rich and inspiring programme that encourages children to be engaged in arts and science.
