The Mosaic Rooms opened the new year with a fantastic two part exhibition Threads of Light // Al-Mutanabbi Street Starts Here. The exhibition features paintings by Iraqi artist Hanoos Hanoos and a selection of art books and broadsheets from the project Al-Mutanabbi Street Starts Here. The private view opening was a full event that also featured a special performance by Iraqi oud player Ehsan Emam.
The Mosaic Rooms held on 22 January 2014 a panel discussion with the participants from the Al-Mutanabbi Street Starts Here Project, and hosted on 23 January the UK launch of the memoirs of Wasif Jawhariyyeh, a remarkable treasure trove of writings on the life, culture, music, and history of Jerusalem.
