In a literary and musical evening organised at the Foundation’s office in Ramallah on 17 October, the Programme announced results of the Young Writer of the Year Award  2012 in the fields of poetry and short story. In poetry, the jury gave the award jointly to two collections, namely "What if We Were Ghosts" by Samar Mahmoud Abdul Jaber, and "4:00 am in the Market" by Tareq Amin Khleifi, also known as "Tareq Al-Arabi". The In the short story also awarded jointly two story collections, namely "The Jabal Amman House" by Nadim Ziad Abdul Hadi, and "North of Andalusia, West of the Homeland" by Suheil Matar. The committee also acknowledged several literary works and recommended them for publication. These were a poetry collection, "Safar Listening to the Family", by Ali Abu Ajamiyeh, another poetry collection, "Concealed in the Interpretation", by Yousef Subhi Al-Qidreh, a collection of stories, "Strawberry, Cakes and Chocolate", by Samia Mustafa Ayyash  and another story collection, "Little Happinesses", by Abeer Khsheiboun.
