To coincide with Frieze Art Fair in October, the Mosaic Rooms hosted a striking exhibition from celebrated Syrian artist Fadi Yazigi entitled “Che, Angel, It’s me, Donkey”. One of the most important artistic voices in the Arab world today, Yazigi has exhibited extensively throughout the Middle East, Europe and the United States, but this is the first time his work has been displayed in the UK. The exhibition of sculptures, painting and mixed media works received great interest, and also formed the backdrop to a series of Syria-related events including a panel discussion on 'What Future Syria?' and the launch event for 'Sarmada', a new novel by emerging Syrian author Fadi Azzam. The September programme included Nedda El-Asmar's beautiful design show.
