As part of the “Child-Friendly Area Project” funded by the Friends of Waldorf Education, the Centre organised a visit for children from the Samouni area to Ash-Shams Sports Club in Gaza for recreational purposes. During the summer, the Centre engaged children from the Samouni area in a series of recreational and sports activities including swimming, soccer, basketball, tennis, athletics, popular and active games and kite-making. The Child-Friendly Area Project targets children aged 3-15 from the Samouni area in Gaza City and their parents. It aims at helping restore normal life to them and alleviating the suffering they were caused by Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip in Winter 2008. Around 150 children benefited from this project.
