At the end of January, the program announced results of the Young Writer Award for the Year 2011 in the fields of novel and play writing. The award was withheld in both fields; however, encouragement awards were given to the novels "These Are the Bullets I Love" by Hani Salmmi (Gaza), "Two Women and a Mirror" by Nesma Al Akklouk (Gaza) and "Oppressed … But" by Raed Ghonaim (Gaza).
