At the end of February, the Programme announced names of the winning artists in the first round of the Young Artist Award for the Year 2012. The announcement was based on the decision of an independent jury which considered 40 submitted applications in relation to clear evaluation criteria. The panel selected ten art projects to participate in the second and final round of the competition. They are (alphabetically): Abdullah Al Ruzzi (Gaza), Dia' Azzeh (Ramallah), Dirar Kalash (Haifa), Inas Halabi (Jerusalem), Jumana Manna (Jerusalem), Majd Abdel Hamid (Ramallah), Mirna Bamieh (Jerusalem), Omar Yousef-Nasser Khoury (Jerusalem), Shada Safadi (Golan), and Stephanie Saade’ (Beirut / Paris).
