With support from Selat: Links through the Arts, the Tiro Association for Arts (Selat: Links through the Arts grant to organisations – 6th edition) organised a performance of the theatrical work Tala’a – A Trip at Cinema Rivoli in Tyre on 31 October 2018. A second performance of the play will be presented at the Al-Qassam Kindergarten in Burj Al-Barajneh refugee camp (Beirut) on 9 November 2018. The performance is by a group of women from Tyre and Burj al-Barajneh refugee camp. It is the result of a training workshop that was launched earlier in July 2018. The training event was organised by the Tiro Arts Association (Tyre) under the supervision and training of Sophie Barclay and Qassem Istanbouli and in collaboration with Fida Attaya. On 27 October 2018, after nearly 30 years of neglect, Rivoli Cinema was reopened in the context of the Tiro International Arts Festival. The first performance of Tala’a – A Trip was staged in August 2018.
