On 12 November, The Qattan Centre for the Child launched the Science Days Palestine 2013 (SDP) in its premises in Gaza. The Festival, which focused on “Energy and Sustainability”, was organised in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut and the Institut Français.

This year's SDP hosted - for the first time in the Middle East - the Science Film Festival (SFF) in Palestine, Jordan and the U.A.E.

The SDP programme, which ran for three days, included screenings of scientific films, scientific experiments about energy and sustainability and storytelling activities associated with space science and astronomy. More than 1,200 children from UNRWA schools participated.

SDP activities were also implemented at the library of the Al Maghazi Community Rehabilitation Society (MCRS) as part of the “Partnership for Development” project co-funded by Drosos Foundation (Switzerland).
