This June, the IT Unit at the Qattan Centre for the Child trained ten children from the Web Designers Club on how to make animated films. The participating children, aged 10-13, learned all aspects of the process of creating animation, including how to write a script, how to draw and move the animated characters, how to assemble the scenes, and how to add audio.

Animation plays a large role in children’s lives, and by being involved in the process of creating such films, they have the opportunity to increase their imagination and creativity. Working on films as a group is also a way to improve children’s social skills.

The participating children produced a beautiful animated film entitled, The Story of the Villain Ahmad, which addresses the issue of causing harm to others.
