Children involved with The Qattan Centre for the Child (QCC) in Gaza have won the Madame Humanite Award for 2013. The ceremony took place in September under the title, Children are the Victims of Violence and Terrorism. The award recognised the children’s paintings which were included as part of an international exhibition in Prague, in the youth and children category. It was organised by the Open Society of Artists (OSOA), the World Culture Union (WCU), and Studio IDEAS.

The children expressed their overwhelming happiness to be receiving the award, hoping it would help to encourage talented children across the arts to express themselves through their work. The winning children are: Rosalin Katbeh, Ahmad Salman, Sahar Al-Masri, Musab Abu Daff, and Mohammad Al-Omrani.
