On October 8, the Centre organised a study day entitled “Teaching Palestinian History in the Context of Producing it as a Project and an Identity.” The event included launch of a permanent forum for history teachers with 64 male and female teachers from different areas of the West Bank participating. Attendees underscored the necessity of exchanging experiences among history teachers through collaborative projects to be implemented between schools, as well as creating interactive educational tools for history teachers in order to revive the history subject and teach it more effectively in the classroom. The study day was the first meeting of the history teachers’ forum as part of the History Project, which aims to work with history teachers in Palestinian schools on reading and reviewing history to enable teachers to deal with its central themes in a critical way.
