The Nilin Teacher Centre organised a celebration to commemorate Land Day on 30 March. Hundreds of parents and teachers from Nilin and neighbouring villages attended the evening event, as well as a group of teachers and others from the Occupied Palestine of 1948.

QCERD founded the Nilin Teacher Centre in order to target all teachers working in the area. It was designed to expand teachers’ pedagogical and cultural horizons, by getting them involved with the Centre, and giving them access to educational tools and materials. The Nilin Centre also acts as a link between QCERD and teachers working in more than 11 different areas. To this end, several activities are held at the Centre which are designed to help teachers develop their professional capabilities. The Centre shows teachers how they can expand their approach to education, and how to be active in their communities. The Centre also offers teachers the opportunity to interact with each other and share their experiences, and to interact with the wider social environment through cultural activities held with students and the local community. The Centre also provides teachers with education resources, as well as hosting various programmes and cultural events.
