On January 21, the Centre’s Outreach Service Programme launched the first phase of the “Kan Yama Kan” [Once upon a Time] Project in partnership with Al-Widad Society for Social Rehabilitation. The project is funded by "Abraaj Capital" through the Welfare Association and targets orphaned children aged 4-18 years who have lost one or both parents during the recent war on the Gaza Strip, as well as mothers of children under the age of 6 across Gaza governorates. “Kan Yama Kan” aims to create an atmosphere of fun and joy for orphaned children, promote reading habits among them, and strengthen the children’s relationships with their mothers through implementation of a variety of cultural and artistic activities.
