This is the first collaborative exhibition between Iraqi artist Hanaa’ Malallah and UK duo kennardphillipps, who share a critical and reflective view of the occupation/invasion of Iraq. Meanwhile, a busy spring schedule is underway at the Mosaic Rooms. The programme includes several talks on arts and politics, as part of a season entitled "What Purpose Free Speech When No One Listens?". Key items in the season’s schedule are lectures by prestigious Egyptian writer Ahdaf Soueif, one by Dr Ziad Bahaa Eldin, head of the parliamentary group of the Egyptian Democratic Social Party, and another by demographic researcher Dr Youssef Courbage. Other features are a Persian poetry night entitled"Persian Poets Evening" and, on 3 May, the launch of a book entitled "Beyond the Wall: Writing a Path Through Palestine"by Bidisha, a writer, critic and BBC broadcaster who contributes to magazines, newspapers and radio and TV programmes internationally.
