As this newsletter goes to press, the Israeli assault on the Palestinians of the Gaza Strip has been ongoing for over a month. The A. M. Qattan Foundation’s Board of Trustees and all its employees condemn this vicious onslaught on Gaza’s civilians, their homes and their civic infrastructure and consider it a flagrant violation of their fundamental human rights and of international law.
Today, we grieve for those who have been killed, and send our support to those who are injured, wishing them a swift recovery. To those who have lost loved ones, and those who have been displaced or otherwise hurt by the conflict, our thoughts are with you.
Yet in spite of the enormity of the human, material and social tragedy in Gaza, we are confident that the Palestinians’ will to resist injustice will only be momentarily shaken and that they will once more rise to up to offer a shining example to all those around the world who are fighting for their right to live in freedom, dignity and peace.
