Gaza – (A. M. Qattan Foundation):

Children of the Literature Clubhouse participated in a literary encounter with Palestinian novelist and writer Dr. Atef Abu Saif. The encounter was organised by the Child Centre – Gaza (CCG) / A. M. Qattan Foundation on 19 November 2018 in the context of the Literature Clubhouse activities of the Autumn 2018 cycle.

The encounter with Abu Saif complemented conversations about the practical experience of writing novels. During the Literature Clubhouse encounters, children were introduced to the most important elements and technical details of the novel. They also read different novels as a practical application of their literary discussions. This literary encounter cast light on a first-hand experience of novel writing. It was presented by Abu Saif in the form of a compilation of inspired advice and living experience.

During the Autumn 2018 cycle, the CCG Literature Clubhouse paid special attention to the novel as one of the most common and favourite literary genres within the cultural and literary community. In line with its policy, the Literature Clubhouse exposes children in every programme cycle to a different genre of literature to make sure they interact with inspiring models of writings and writers.

It is worth noting that Abu Saif has recently received the Katara Prize for Arabic Novel –Young Writers Category 2018.
