The Child Centre – Gaza (CCG) participated in events of the School Library Week, organised by the Ministry of Education at the CCG premises over the period 14-18 October 2018.

Through its participation in the School Library Week, the CCG raised awareness of the importance of public libraries and the role the play in promoting reading habit and love of reading. In this context, the CCG implemented a number of reading and cultural activities at the CCG Library. These included Free Reading, The Shadow of Tales, Reading a Story Aloud, cultural competitions, and Hakawati (Storytelling).

A total of 32 elementary and preparatory schools, including 901 boys and girls, participated in and benefited from the School Library Week.

The School Library Week activities were not limited to the CCG Library. Events were also organised in the context of the Mobile Library Project, implemented by the CCG with co-funding  from the Bank of Palestine.
